I'm also in search of cones for a cooking project. I went to just about every fancy schmanzy food store in the region and finally bought a cone of sewing thread for a serger, only to strip off all the thread. Now I've decided it's really too small for what I want.
I've been eyeballing the cone on which I have some Jacob yarn wound and telling myself not to be ridiculous.
It would be foolish, wouldn't it?

What about Miss Rachel. She could have it from her dying business... I don't have any or I'd run them to you.
I just threw 2 cones away. Damn. Let me see if I can rescue them.
Got 'em! They are slightly damp from laying on a wet paper towel (and from being lysoled), but I have them.
Pardon me while I spam your blog with comments about my trash can. I just re-read your post and realized you need the cones for FOOD. You probably don't want my trash cones, dur. I will save my next clean batch if you need them.
Cones? Like a form to make cones from or something into which you'd like to actually put food? I've got yarn cones too, and I'm not adverse to winding off the yarn...
I need them to make sugar cones, so they would be molds, ala the sugar skulls. I only need about 3 or 4 for my purposes. I'd happyily take even 1.
