Seriously, the dog pooped ten times on Sunday. Never in the house, but that's largely thanks to an insane and unsustainable degree of hypervigilance on my part. Now when I put my ear to his little belly, I just hear a tiny gurgle now and then, and not the sounds of a toddler trying to execute a transmission rebuild.

- An Alice in Wonderland journal, which currently contains fascinating entries along the lines of "went to work; nap; dog pooped eight times."
- A lovely bookmark from my friend Kathy.
- A dishcloth in cotton/linen. I've never been so thrilled to cast on a dishcloth in my life. Knitting has been far too absent of late.
- A book I should be reading to develop tomorrow's final exam. This book, BTW, is excellent, even if you're not in my lit. class. The author is hilariously funny.
- My high school yearbook, so that I can try to figure out who it is friending me on facebook.
- A dirty armchair that is likely to get dirtier with the addition of a dog to our home.
- Two Hello Kitty stitch markers from the talented and lovely and stylish, albeit blogless, Suzanne (who should definitely have an Etsy shop!).
- A pile of anniversary cards, unopened junk mail, and the 2009 Hallmark Dream Book.
- A magazine about Cavalier King Charles Spaniels.
- A stack of puppy training books that are probably overdue from the public library.
- A remote control getting only limited use because the dog barks at the TV set.
How many can you find?

What an adorable puppy! Have you tried crate training him so that you do not have to be so vigilant? It does really work. I did it with my Bichon Frise.
He actually is beautifully crate trained. No accidents; no separation anxiety. I just don't like to leave him in it all day, especially when I am at home.
