I Is a Winner

Yoel gave me an award of a bloggy sort and said generous things as well. I'm touched. It's an award that keeps on giving too.

The rules are:
1. Copy the award to your site
2. Link to the person from whom you received the award
3. Nominate 7 other bloggers
4. Link to those on your blog
5. Leave a message on the blogs you nominated.

Of late it seems like a lot of my favorite knit bloggers have fallen off the wagon. If you didn't get an award, it doesn't mean I don't like you; it means you need to get on the stick and write, missy! This means you!

Graceful Lady: Anna's photos are so European. She sews, knits, crafts, designs. I love reading her updates on her sewing projects. There's a quietness to her work that is very centered. For even more inspiration, check out her website.

Little Grey Bungalow: Somehow Shay finds all kinds of great vintage images: advertisements, sewing patterns, recipes. Just my kind of ephemera.

Crafty and Crap: Mindy (crafter extraordinaire) does an amazing array of crafty crap. She's the only indy dyer I know who makes self-striping sock yarn, all in colorways named for muppet characters. That was her Janice colorway I worked up last week. She designs her own jewelry, cards, scrapbook pages, and more. Her etsy shop makes me weak in the knees.

Dyeabolical Yarns: People make special trips to our LYS just to buy Rachel's yarns, but it's also available on her etsy shop. I've been hoarding her stuff for a few years, myself. I just set skeins out on the table and admire them, often unwilling to turn them into knitgoods lest my skills not match the beauty of the yarn. Plus, she's a darn good writer.

Lucky Find Gazette: Suzy has the coolest stuff--the coolest! Our collecting interests are about thirty years apart, but we absolutely have the same bug. Go read some back issues of her ezine.

Seams Historic: After a bit of a hiatus, Amanda has gotten back to blogging. Consider this award an incentive to blog more often. Amanda has a great sense of color and of trimmings. She makes gorgeous period costumes. If my corset fits, it will be Amanda's doing.

And it's very self-reflexive, but I have to nominate Yoel Knits too: Her blog took off when she decided to spend the year working down her stash, but her redesigns of patterns continue to inspire me. Just recently, she decided to kitchener two cabled pieces in pattern. Blows the mind.

Yeah! I got an award nomination! BTW, The Oscars were the best about nominees this year, definitely! I'd nominate you blog, but someone beat me to it!
