Dots

It's a dots day, apparently. I had some coherent thoughts, but then got online and they're all scrambled.
  • I have the same first and middle name as Debbie (Jane) Bliss. How odd. And now she's being sued. I was pleasantly surprised by her magazine btw.

  • My school, the satellite campus to a community college, decided to celebrate the Chinese Mid-Autumn or Moon Cake festival today. There are free moon cakes, fruity gels, almond cookies, jujubes (the real ones, not the candy) and more out in the lobby. A woman is there to help students write their name in Chinese on a bookmark. Another woman is helping students make paper cranes. Best of all, a woman is playing a guqin and her music is washing away all the tension in the cramped faculty office. What pedagogical value does it all have? I've no idea and at the moment, I don't really care. I think it's wonderful.

  • Just when I begin to really question what I've managed to teach my students so far, the quiz study guide ends up being five pages long.

  • The firefly mitts have been bringing me joy as well.

This whole post brings me joy. I was in charge of the first Chinese fall festival at Meramec. I was hoping it would catch on among sister chapters. If I start calling you 2-letter DJ will we still be friends? I like the way the smaller mitts turned out. Much flamier.

Here's another coincidence: your sister, the 2nd born, who shares a first name with Margaret Atwood, the subject of your second dotted paragraph, recently bought some Debbie (Jane) Bliss yarn, and whilst learning of the Debbie (Jane) Bliss scandal, also learned of the scandal of Elsebeth Lavold Silky Wool, the yarn of her current project. Also, said sister has apparently mastered (mistressed?) the run-on sentence. Not to mention: nice nails. I'm wildly envious.

I had hoped someone would notice the nails; I was focusing on how wrinkly my knuckles look. You may be surprised to know that there was not one, single run-on sentence in your comment. Not one at all. You even used the colon correctly.
