Two at Once

The next FO ended up being two at once, four even, in that I completed the sample socks from Melissa Morgan-Oakes's 2-at-a-time Socks.*
I like the book, love the patterns, but this technique isn't really for me. I'm happy to go around and around on DPs. I also hate learning from a book but found her method really clear and easy to follow. Her idea of knitting the first pair in different colors and in a toddler size using worsted weight yarn works. I felt like I could put the project down at any time and be able to pick it up again without having to rip out and start over.

That's what I did though. I put the project down after knitting the first set of one pink and one red sock. This UFO knitting is killing me. I put stuff down for a reason. And having knitted socks out of a book, my temptation is to leaf through the book and immediately pick my next project. I'm in agony.

I'm also continuing to cook my Fair Share. This week's protein, a whole chicken, became Coca Cola chicken with Coca Cola BBQ sauce. You can barely see it, but this chicken has a can of Coke shoved up its butt.

  • ingredients from Fair Shares: chicken, onion (plus FS tomato and basil as a side dish).

*bonus points to Melissa, or her editor, for knowing to hyphenate the compound adjective before a noun:
  • two-at-a-time socks are socks that are knitted two at a time.

Ride 'em, cowboy! What a cutie. Is that a napkin or a tea towel? I liked doing two socks at once only because I know I'd never ever ever ever have a pair if I made them separately on dpns.

It's a flour sack towel we got as a wedding present. He's such a cutie I never use him--but the vintage stove grunge was way to embarassing to do without a backdrop.
