New Sweater

My friend Ann can whip up a sweater in no time flat. Last I knew (as in last week), she was working on lacy, green, cowl-necked sweater. I was shocked to find out on Wednesday evening that she had completed another one since I had seen her last, a red a-line. Imagine my utter astonishment this morning, not two days later, to find out about a third sweater, a cheery cherry little number.

I have knitted three sweaters for the dog in the past few months, a dog with a 16" chest. I suppose, technically, since I had to rip two of the sweaters twice and reknit, that I've really knitted five sweaters.

The first one went very well, once I got over my gauge denial, and reknit.

For the second one, I thought I knew what gauge I needed, but forgot that I'd gone down two needle sizes. I also forgot to decrease for the back. Having ripped and reknit this second sweater once already, I decided to live with it. It's too big for outdoor wear (read: dog will get pee on it), but it's fine for around the house.

I had hoped to have great photos of the third sweater, which turned out perfectly and needed no reknitting. Instead, I only have a photo of a very clean, very tired pup.

Yesterday, I took Steu and his new sweater on a long walk to the park. He mistook a creek for a pile of leaves (a completely reasonable error) and fell in. He emerged, black and stinking of rotten leaves, and did his level best to rub the smell off in a dirt pile.

I'll never catch up with Ann at this rate.

Yer crackin' me up... Steu looks plum tuckered out in that last photo. Must have been some adventure.

Even the Knitting Goddesses have bad knit days. There is hope for me yet. Love your hansome guy.

He is so adorable, and makes a great male model! Smart of you to train him young to love clothes. Bridget is still insistent on public nudity!
