I know I'm a ridiculously heavy sleeper and I was sleeping off a Big Smith concert (which kicked ass, btw), but damn!
After about two weeks of some pretty hardcore production knitting, I'm being kind to my hands, wrists, and elbows, and not packing any knitting for my road trip to Olathe, KS this weekend. The thought is giving me the heebie jeebies already.
To overcompensate, I bought some lovely expensive yarn.

Felt the earth move. I don't think it was as big a deal here as the news is making out, but I tend to under-react. I love your new yarn. I sure hope it has silk or quiviat or cashmere in it.
I must be totally insensitive--there was an aftershock while I was teaching & my students felt it, but I didn't.
One of my commenters, Joan, lives not far from you, Deborah. She felt the aftershock at around ten this morning but although I was awake and reasonably alert I didn't feel it up here in Hannibal.
BTW, that is nicely-colored yarn you bought! What will you make with it?
I think I was awake when the quake hit (trouble sleeping for no discernible reason) & was totally disoriented -- at first thought someone had broken into the house! The cats went nuts too.

I'm going to make a large shawl out of it and about 7 other yarns. It will be an assortment of textures, but similar colors. I'm slowly accumulating what I need.
